The Masters of Food and Wine USA Tour will provide a taste of the five day food and wine gourmet extravaganza, which takes place at Park Hyatt Mendoza and Palacio Duhau-Park Hyatt Buenos Aires -
The event takes place in anticipation of the 2nd Annual Masters of Food & Wine South America, February 12-17, 2008 Park Hyatt hotels in Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Chicago will play host to local previews of the event in September 2007.
At the U.S. events, visiting Argentine chefs and The Vines of Mendoza will present a series of gastronomic samplings at Park Hyatt Philadelphia (9/17), Park Hyatt Washington D.C. (9/19) and Park Hyatt Chicago (9/21) to showcase the flavors of Argentina through the country's acclaimed cuisine, award-winning wines and Argentine-themed entertainment.
Following the event's tremendous success over the past 21 years at Park Hyatt Carmel, Highlands Inn, Park Hyatt hotels are expanding the concept abroad to celebrate premier culinary destinations in other areas of the world. Designed to create an authentic Argentine experience, the elements of the Masters of Food & Wine U.S.A. Tour will educate the palate on Argentine cuisine and stimulate the senses.
The Flavors, Sights and Sounds of Argentina - Four distinguished chefs from Argentina will make the journey to participate in the Masters of Food and Wine U.S.A Tour. The chefs will prepare a sumptuous multi-course dinner in collaboration with each sister Park Hyatt hotel. Participating chefs include, Fernando Trocca, executive chef and owner of Buenos Aires' Sucre and El Diamante and New York City's Industria Argentina; Juan Manuel Guizzo, chef, Bistro M, (Park Hyatt Mendoza); Màximo López May, Restaurant Gioia, (Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires) and Juliana López May, owner, Taller de Cocina, Buenos Aires.
Mendoza is recognized as one of the world's eight great wine capitals, and The Vines of Mendoza will invite guests to sample a selection of wines from the prestigious Mendoza wine region with a pre-dinner wine tasting session, as well as wine pairings to complement each course on the evening's menu. Participating wineries from Mendoza include: Catena Zapata, Trapiche, Tapiz, Luigi Bosca, Mairena, Matices, Pascual Toso, Tempus Alba, Enrique Foster, Salentein, Vina Cobos, Dominio del Plata, Lorca, Septima, Gimenez-Riili and Tikal.
Park Hyatt Philadelphia (XIX), Park Hyatt Washington D.C. (Blue Duck Tavern) and Park Hyatt Chicago (NoMI) will also feature a selection of several of these exceptional Argentine wines by the glass and by the bottle during the month of September. Two of the most popular wines will remain on each hotel's menu throughout the year.
In addition, each event will showcase Argentina's with traditional Tango music and live dance performances.
